In a gesture that reflects both civic conscience and quiet leadership, the Indian Golf Premier League in collaboration with GB Legends has initiated a substantial relief and rehabilitation effort for those affected by the recent floods in Punjab. At a moment when communities confront profound disruption, such interventions stand as a testament to responsibility extending beyond sport.
The initiative was formally flagged off by Gulab Chand Kataria, who oversaw the dispatch of four trucks laden with essential provisions valued at over ten lakh rupees, destined for the most severely impacted regions.
At the heart of this endeavour is a committed collective of ten individuals, including internationally acclaimed golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar, alongside Uttam Mundy, Ishan Dsouza, Akhil Nayar, Gaurav Gandhi, Jaspreet Bhaika, Amit Sood, Jatinder Bajwa, Colonel Harpreet Mann, and Balwinder Singh. Their stewardship ensures that the initiative is not merely symbolic, but meaningfully executed on the ground.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhullar remarked that the effort transcends material relief, embodying solidarity with the people of Punjab in a time of acute hardship, while striving to restore both comfort and continuity to affected lives.
The consignment itself has been assembled with precision and care, comprising portable beds, mattresses, seating, ration kits, tarpaulin sheets, animal fodder, and essential medical and hygiene supplies. Guided by real time assessments from field partners, these provisions address immediate and practical necessities.
Supported by a dedicated network of over fifty volunteers, the distribution aims to deliver not only aid, but reassurance, dignity, and a sense of collective resilience in the face of adversity.
