Her personal style reflects an effortless blend of elegance, individuality, and refined sophistication. A glimpse into Shachi Bedi’s wardrobe reveals an impressive array of ensembles thoughtfully chosen to complement every occasion. From graceful sarees to contemporary western silhouettes, her fashion sensibility carries an air of timeless charm while remaining subtly aligned with modern trends. An accomplished entrepreneur by profession, Shachi balances a dynamic professional life with a keen appreciation for style, believing that the way one dresses should mirror the authenticity of the person within.
Sharing her perspective on fashion, she remarks, “For me, fashion is a way to express the true essence of one’s personality. The person you are within should be reflected through the way you present yourself to the world. I do not believe in using fashion as a camouflage to hide the real self or to simply conform to expectations. Comfort and confidence are the most important elements. When you are comfortable in what you wear, confidence naturally becomes a part of your appearance.”
A woman of many dimensions, Shachi is an Overseas Education and Immigration Consultant who also manages a Pearson Test of English centre. She is the owner of Target Automobiles, an authorised service station for Tata Heavy Automobiles. Alongside her entrepreneurial ventures, she passionately works as a Past Life Regression Therapist, Tarot Card Reader, and Life Coach. She considers these pursuits a meaningful way to serve the human community. Adding a compassionate dimension to her life, she also volunteers as a counsellor for cancer patients at Max Hospital in Mohali whenever time permits.
Accessories occupy a significant place in her style narrative. Bracelets, belts, and handbags are among the pieces she loves to collect, each adding an element of refinement to her attire. Over the years, her sense of fashion has evolved through exposure to different cultures, brands, and global travel. While she enjoys observing diverse trends, she chooses only those elements that resonate with her personality. According to her, fashion should always remain a genuine reflection of individuality rather than a blind imitation of trends.
Although she does not consider herself deeply attached to designer labels, the brand Versace has particularly intrigued her. What fascinates her is not merely the aesthetic appeal of the designs but the storytelling behind the creations. Learning about the journey of Gianni Versace and the evolution of the brand left a lasting impression on her.
Among her most treasured possessions are a Girard Perregaux wristwatch and a limited edition Omega timepiece, both of which represent her appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless luxury. Complementing these are her extensive handbag collection, especially pieces from the Gucci range, along with a versatile assortment of perfumes that she chooses according to her mood each day.
Despite her admiration for luxury accessories, Shachi believes that the most beautiful accessory a person can possess is a radiant smile. “Nothing enhances your appearance more gracefully than a bright smile,” she says with conviction. When it comes to clothing, sarees remain her first love, and she often finds even the simplest excuse to wear them. Alongside these classic drapes, she enjoys jumpsuits and western cord sets, particularly those crafted from linen fabrics that combine comfort with understated elegance.
Her personal style statement is defined by a thoughtful balance of accessories and attire. A matching wrist watch paired with a bracelet forms an essential part of her look, followed by carefully chosen footwear and a complementary handbag. She rarely steps out without applying kajal and wearing a watch, both of which she considers indispensable. Perfume, too, plays an important role in completing her daily style ritual.
While she appreciates creativity in fashion, there are certain trends she believes should gradually fade away. One of them is the overt display of luxury brands, particularly when they are not authentic. She also discourages the habit of wearing trends without considering whether they truly suit an individual’s body type or personality.
Her personal collections reflect both variety and thoughtful selection. Her handbags range from cross body and office bags to travel pieces, party bags, and elegant clutches. While functionality and colour often guide her choices, her collection also features renowned labels such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Dior.
Her watch collection largely consists of pieces suitable for professional and everyday wear, though she admits that owning a Rolex and a Bvlgari watch remains on her wish list. In the realm of footwear, Versace heels hold a special place in her wardrobe, available in several shades to compliment her attire. Christian Louboutin heels are another favourite, though their towering height often makes them admired as much as worn.
Sunglasses are yet another passion she indulges in. While the shape and shade of the glasses matter more to her than the label, her collection includes designs from brands such as Gucci, Versace, Burberry, Prada, Fendi, and Tom Ford.
Through every element of her wardrobe, Shachi Bedi’s style philosophy remains consistent and graceful. Fashion, for her, is not about flamboyance or extravagance, but about authenticity, elegance, and confidence. Even when wearing the most striking attire, she believes the ultimate goal is to carry it with poise. As she simply puts it, grace always comes first.
